Coline Ballet-Baz

I was born June 12, 1992 in Vienne in the Isère, and I lived in Vienne until I was 17. Then I went to live in Grenoble, where I began my political science’s studies.

I have always practiced and loved skiing since I was a little child, but I practice it intensively only for two years, because Vienne is not the best place to ride! I also really began freestyle skiing about two years ago, including taking lessons with EGUG (Ecole de Glisse des Universités de Grenoble), a skiing course for students.

I started competing in freestyle last year because I was curious to discover skiing competitions and to meet other riders. And it was a very rewarding experience, I am motivated to continue competing this year.

In October 2011 I went in Val Senales in Italia with some friends. It was my only ski trip experience and it tempted me to travel as much as I can in other countries, both for skiing and discovery!

I also belong to the CTR crew since last year, a joyful French group of freeriders and freestylers who shoot a lot and realize one film per year, this year it is named “l’hiver summer”.

I hope this winter will be full of nice experiences!

What is your favorite ski in the Collection?

Pearl 169cm

Why do you like this ski?

It is a very stable ski, which increase confidence on kickers, but it is also enjoyable and easy to use for jib.

What conditions do you use this ski for?

I use it each time I go in a park, both for kickers and rails.

What about bindings? What bindings do you use? And where do you mount them?

I use the marker-squire, I enjoy them especially for their solidity. I mount them almost center, in order to make switch easier.

What DIN do you have your bindings on?

They are on 8.

RANDOM FACTS:

Favorite skier: I don’t know if I really have a favorite skier, I especially enjoy watching creative riders who try to develop something new in their segments, and also those who are the most motivated on skis. But if I had to choose I would say Alex Neurohr and Tom Wallisch for their amazing style, and Kaya Turski for girls, both for her skiing and inline skating performances.

Ski hero growing up: Kelly Sildaru

Home mountain: les deux alpes, les 7 laux

Height: 1m67

Ideal day in the mountains: you take good friends, you add a sunny morning of fresh powder, an entire afternoon on the park and it would be the perfect day. And finish with a street funny session, but I don’t know if I would be able to do that all in the same day J

How would you describe your style: I would be pleased to be able to describe it, I hope it is not too bad!

Your biggest breakthrough in your skiing career. My first sponsors!

Favorite place to ride: What I like at most is to discover new places and new spots, but the resort I spend most of my time is Les Deux Alpes.

Best snow trip: It was a short time ago, in Val Senales in Italia. We went there with some friends and we have all been stocked by the quality of the park (there were fresh snow in October) and the atmosphere in the resort, people were very nice.

What age did you start to ski: I started with 4.

What cant you live without: a home, some food and some water J and friends!

Favorite phone App. Considering my phone, I can only say SMS!

Goals and plans: What I would really like to do in the next years is to go abroad as much as I can in order to discover new places to ride, and of course continuing to take so much pleasure on skis. I also have some competition and shootings plans, mainly with the CTR crew or my photographer friend Mathieu Mazuel.
