Alexander Häfele
When Alex was 2 and a half years old, he just had to cross a small field and was at the bottom of “his” mountain. His whole family worked as ski instructor’s so he had quite some help with starting skiing. After racing for a couple of years, he started his mogul skiing career and was quite successful. He skied two year’s for the German national team and then changed to the Austrian national team. All together he skied 6 years on the World Cup tour.
After finishing the professional mogul skiing he was very excited about the upcoming freeskiing. So he found a new challenge in participating in freeride an skier cross competition’s. But soon he knew that competing was not the best thing about skiing anymore. Since then he tries to spend as much time as possible on the mountains. His brother and most of his friend’s share his passion. Together they are always on the search for the next best day.
What is your favorite ski in 2011/2012 Collection?
Katana
Why do you like this ski?
It’s the perfect ski for fast and hard skiing. The best overall mountain ski I’ve ever had.
What conditions do you use this ski for?
All freeride conditions, it’s also quite good on the slopes. It’s also stiff enough for high speed in tracked powder and smooth enough for the freshies.
What other skis in the 2011/2012 collection do you ride?
Race tiger GS speed wall
Can you tell us a little about each pair of skis, and about what sort of conditions you use them for?
Race tiger GS speed wall, it’s the perfect ski for the slopes. I use it in the fall to get my technique training done and during the seasons to get some high speed turn’s
What about bindings? What bindings do you use? And where do you mount them?
For the 2011/2012 season I will use the marker jester pro 18 on the Katana’s. On one pair I will mount a marker duke for short ascent’s
What DIN do you have your bindings on?
