Jens Byggmark switches to Marker Völkl

Jens Byggmark switches to Marker Völkl    12. Mai 2009

A top-rate addition to the alpine World Cup team at Marker Völkl: Sweden's Jens Byggmark will spend the coming season dancing through the slalom gates on the Völkl Racetiger.

At only 23 years of age, the Scandinavian has already enjoyed a great deal of success in his brief career, including six podium places during World Cup events. He became the toast of the ski world in January 2007 by capturing two World Cup victories in one weekend of racing at Kitzbühel (AUT).

In changing his ski brand, Jens Byggmark is laying the groundwork for his return to the absolute peak of the skiing world as fast as possible. "Extensive tests on the Völkl Racetiger have shown me that I can produce outstanding times on this world champion's ski. At Völkl, I won't just have top materials, but will also be supported by a professional racing team. Combined with the family atmosphere, I'll have the best conditions for achieving even greater success than before," said the likable Swede.

Klaus Gattermann, racing director at Marker Völkl, also welcomed the switch: "We're thrilled of course, and with Jens we are proud to add another top athlete to our World Cup team. He's a cool guy and an extremely fast skier with tremendous potential who, despite his tender age, has already established himself among the world's best. With him and slalom world champion Manfred Pranger (AUT) in our team, we are perfectly situated for the coming World Cup season as well as for the Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada."
