Hamish Acland

Acland is a multifaceted skier that grew up skiing but with no competition background until leaving school. He then quickly became one of the leading skiers in the infancy of the park and pipe movement in New Zealand. It was in Big Mountain competitions that he would truly dominate in his homeland and internationally breaking through in Europe in 2002 with multiple podiums and going on to rank 5th on the World Tour in 2005.

Acland is respected as skier but also for what he does off snow. He organized the inaugural Free Ski Open New Zealand in 2005, took over the publishing and editorial reigns of New Zealand Skier Magazine in 2008 well continuing to ski professionally. In 2009 he launched his lasted venture Mons Royale; a merino underwear and firstlayer brand. Which by 2011 had expanded quickly into over 300 stores across the globe and onto some of the worlds best action sports athletes.

Shiro 190

Of course powder, but it’s the new gotama for me

What other skis in the 2011/2012 collection do you ride?

The Kuro for the bigger days.

What about bindings? What bindings do you use? And where do you mount them?

The Duke for touring days

What DIN do you have your bindings on?
