THE COLLECTION 2020/2021
THE NEW REVOLT 104
In April 2018, Schinka approached the team to develop an all new, all mountain ski. The testing and developing of the Revolt 121 was on going and the athletes involved were the perfect all-rounders to work on this new product.
“The width underfoot was to be in the 100s, it wasn’t to be a park or freeride specific ski, it was to be an everyday ski, to widen our playing field on the mountain. We decided on 104mm under foot. We took inspiration from the original Gotama, an iconic ski from Völkl’s past. The ski became known as the 10-4.”
The first REVOLT 104 prototype was tested that September in Bariloche, Argentina. It was the final testing days of the Revolt 121 and the team where able to try the ski for the first time. The playful all-mountain ski with full twin tip was an instant hit and the dimensions were confirmed almost instantly.
Athlete feedback is key, Lucas Romain - lead engineer on the Revolt 104, deciphers all. From on snow group testing to meticulous data collection at our R&D department in Straubing, everything is taken into consideration when developing the skis.
On SNOW IN ARGENTINA
This Freeride hotspot in Patagonia was an obvious choice to take the Revolt 104 for its debut on snow. Team members Markus Eder, Paddy Graham and Tom Ritsch took to the mountains in Bariloche for their first ride of the new ski. Under blue skies the trio explored the whole mountain, tearing up the slopes and finding some air in the backcountry.
»The 104 is the perfect ski to take out for a ride when you’re unsure what the day will bring. Shredding pow, carving on the slopes, buttering in the slush or hitting the snowpark. Everything goes.«
The ‘Built Together’ story continues across the globe, our featured artist this year is Ben Brough with his ‘Spirit Animal’ collection.
Ben lives in the costal city of Costa Mesa, California. Growing up on surf culture he is rooted to nature and action sports. Self-taught; from an early age Ben knew he wanted to be an artist but wasn’t quite sure what that meant.
As an artist, Ben is known to work in the mediums of painting, collage and sculpture. His poetic childlike scrawl evokes a raw mythical impact with humorous undertones.
»Everyone has the animal instinct in them«

» I like the animal graphics of the new skis, especially the fox. The fox as a spirit animal encourages action and quick, swift moves just like the playful 104.«

COMING WINTER 2020/21!
The entire freestyle product family will go through 4 years of »Built Together« redesigns, with some models totally reworked from the ground up.
Coming in winter 2020/21
An unbridled passion for skiing and global mountain culture are shared obsessions that link not just our athletes, but also our engineers and commissioned artists as well. »BUILT TOGETHER« is intended to capture this devotion, welding it with our unmatched knowledge of product expertise. It`s mission is to pursue new paths and create something extraordinary in the process. The idea is to directly involve the athletes in ski development, with the goal of creating skis that fit their wants and desires perfectly.
“What’s great about the test process is that everyone has a different opinion of what the ski should be like, so when you take everyone’s feedback into consideration, you can figure out what will best suit the next round of skis to test until everyone is stoked.”
Paddy Graham I Team Rider
“The characteristics of the 104 allow the ski fit to so many types of skiing. From carving those edges deep into perfectly groomed slopes, to the bumpy and tracked off piste. It doesn’t end there, you have to go find out for yourself!”
MARKUS EDER I Team Rider
JEAN-CLAUDE PEDROLINI I Product Manager
Lucas Romain I Ski Engineer
»I like the easy rider feel. The 104 kicks ass all the time, everywhere! I ski it in the park, in the bumps and on half assed pow days. It’s always the right tool for the job!«
COLTER HINCHCLIFF I Team Rider
»I’m stoked to finally have an everyday ski that I can use for any condition out there. If all the powder is tracked in the morning you can go spend the afternoon in the park without having to switch skis.«
