Alice Robinson ends season with a Victory!

After a difficult season, Alice Robinson ends the season 20/21 with a great victory. As already published in our news, Alice Robinson finished second in Jasna (SVK) two weeks ago.

Now she takes the win in the final World Cup event. After a good first run, the New Zealander started the second run in fourth place, only 77 hundredths behind. Despite difficult conditions due to poor visibility and difficult snow conditions, Alice Robinson, only 19 years old, got everything out of the second run and led at the finish by 1.29 seconds ahead of Federica Brignone. Even the leader after the first run, Mikaela Shiffrin, was no longer able to counter this. In the end, Robinson won by 0.28 seconds ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) and Meta Hrovat (SLO) and thus claimed the third World Cup victory of her career.

According to the FIS, Alice Robinson is now the first woman to win 3 GS World Cups before turning 20 years old. This has not happened since Matja Svet in 1986-88.

With this great end of the season, the young New Zealander is now flying back home to her family. Robinson has been in Europe continuously since August and has been unable to visit her family due to the Covid Pandemic. When she returns to her home country, she will have to go into quarantine for two weeks and after that, she can celebrate her successes together with her family.

We wish you a safe flight home and enjoy your time with your family Alice!

Not only Alice Robinson finished the season with a good result. Andrea Filser reached a great 2nd place with the German team in the Team Parallel competition and Martina Dubovska (CZE) finished the season with a good 9th place at the Slalom competition.
