AU REVOIR VIRGINIE!
Virginie Faivre (34) quits her active career after more than ten years in the Marker Völkl Freeski-Team.
After starting her career with alpine skiing she achieved her international breakthrough after the switch to twin-tip skis. At her first Halfpipe World Cup-competition she got straight on the winners' podium. Since day one of her work with Marker and Völkl Virginie was constantly successful and single-minded. She won the overall World Cup 2009 and 2013 in halfpipe and earned five European Open titles in the categories halfpipe and slopestyle. Other sporting achievements are three World Championship titles she won in 2009, 2013 and 2015 in the halfpipe. Furthermore she took part in the X-Games eight times and also attended several Dew-Tour events. When she participated at the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014, she missed the medal just shortly with a fourth place. Since 2011 she is also the host of the famous Nine Queens-Contest.
Jean-Claude Pedrolini, Völkl Freeski Manager only has good words to say about Virginie: “The Cooperation with Virginie was always great, she is a very lovely and obliging person. No matter if during training, as company ambassador or on TV – her behavior was very professional every time. The whole Völkl family wants to say thank you and we wish Virginie only the best a successful and exciting time after her active sporting career.
