Solid start to the slalom season in Levi with personal best for Dubovska
After the brilliant opening of the season in Sölden (first WC victory in GS for young gun Alice Robinson), the slalom season began in Levi on November 23 and 24 with a personal best for the young MDV racer from the Czech Republic Martina Dubovska!
She showed impressively how to place on the upper ranks despite a high bib (56). The 27-year-old was already on the 10th place after the first run and kept her nerve in the second run, securing 9th place. Coach changes and new training methods now seem to be having an effect. We keep our fingers crossed that Martina Dubovska can continue to build on her achievements in Levi in future races.
The swedish team member Emelie Wikstroem ranked 2 places behind Dubovska in 11th place, the Norwegian Mina Fürst Holtmann in 12th place and Norwegian team colleague Maren Skjoeld placed 17th. Congratulations girls, for a successful start to the season!
The following day, the slalom men started. Again, a very solid performance came from Norway; Sebastian Foss-Solevaag opened his season with a 9th place. Stefano Gross, who was highly motivated after a long injury break, was unfortunately unable to achieve any success: he threaded the middle section and missed a gate. It was unfortunate, but the next opportunity for success is coming in the coming races!
