We congratulate Markus Salcher
Markus Salcher, austrian paraskier, was once again voted and awarded "Sportsman of the year with disabilities 2020". He has previously received this award in 2014 and 2017.
Markus deserves our fullest recognition, both for his successes in sports and for his social commitment to the "Snow Tiger" sponsorship project and as an ambassador for the "Laureus Sport for Good"-movement.
The "Snow Tigers" enable active and integrative winter sports for people with and without disabilities, they are committed to the construction of barrier-free ski stations and all year-round access to exercise opportunities. This brought Markus the nomination for the "Sportsman with heart"-award.
Among the greatest successes of his sports career are the Olympic victories at the Paralymics in the speed disciplines downhill and Super-G 2014 in Sochi, 2018 in Pyeongchang, 4 World Championship titles and numerous World Cup victories.
We wish Markus, his fans and all sports enthusiasts, despite pandemic-related difficult times, another successful season 2020/2021 with many wonderful moments.
We will be supporting Markus as he strives to achieve his ambitious goals at the World Championship 2021 in Norway and the Paralympic Winter Games 2022 in China.
