Up the east ridge, descending the southern couloir: crossing the Vorderseespitze is a well-know and demanding tour in the Lechtal Alps. The main facts: Favourable and stable conditions are mandatory; ascent approx. 1.700 m of altitude; several short and exposed climbing sections in the area UIAA II; partly long and steep descents around 40°.

Leaving the car at the parking in Kaiser (1.518 m), the route takes you up the Kaisertal, passing the Kaiseralm hut (1.689 m) to the head of the valley. From there the ascent leads you eastwards to a nameless ridge (2.600 m) south of the Stierlahnzug ridge.

After a short downhill section you head for the 40° steep and narrow stage which leads to the lower parts of the Vorderseeferner.

After descending there´s a short climb to the Hinterseejoch (2.482 m). While skiing back to the upper part of the Kaisertal valley, you will find northwestern to western faces with steep sections up to 40° decline.
