Joshua Sturm earns his first medal at Junior World Ski Championships
After a mixed season, the 19-year-old from Pitztal, who initially finished seventh in the first run, achieved a sensational third place in the slalom and finished sixth in the giant slalom. He was just seven tenths of a second behind the winner Benjamin Ritchie (USA).
Joshua Sturm himself commented on his win in an interview, saying that he had skied the first run rather cautiously, as he had done all season. His recipe for success in the second run: "Just go for it and don't think about it”. This is probably also the experience he takes with him from Bansko, after narrowly missing out on the medal in Fasstal (ITA) in 2019. Not only the experience, but also the great atmosphere in the team and with his roommate Lukas Feurstein helped him to succeed.
