TESTED AND APPROVED BY THE
VÖLKL MASTERCLASS

Master models for the Masterclass! For the start of the 2021/22 winter season, Völkl is launching four innovative and precise Master models in the Racetiger and Deacon lines that will make the hearts of high-perfomance skiers beat faster. In order to best adapt the new Master models to the requirements of the target group, the team of Völkl product managers invited ten national instructors from the Italian ski teaching team, so called “Istruttori Nazionali”, to the Stelvio glacier as part of a pilot project. There, the team of top alpine skiers, the Völkl Masterclass, tested the various construction concepts and the models were subsequently finalized by the product managers based on the feedback.

DEACON MASTER

DEACON 76 & 72 MASTER

For the 2021/22 season, we are launching our technically completely revised Deacon Master models with a level of performance unprecedented in the All Mountain segment – an absolute must for every ambitious and passionate skier. The Deacon 72 Master and Deacon 76 Master are replacing the Deacon Pro skis in our All Mountain line.

RACETIGER MASTER

NEW CHAPTER IN THE RACETIGER ERA: GS AND SL MASTER

Ground-breaking new technologies, a new design and a new name: we have completely updated our Racetiger GS Pro and Racetiger SL Pro skis and launch two new Racetigers: the Racetiger GS and SL Master. It’s a new chapter in the Racetiger’s long success story.

THE MASTER TECHNOLOGIES

FullTitanal

FULL TITANAL

Titanal is used all over the ski, when stability and ultraprecise reaction at the highest speed are the top priorities. This construction is mostly used for racing and high-end All Mountain models.

The Titanal is placed in a full sheet in the ski with mostly 0,7 mm thickness. As a general rule there are two Titanal belts integrated in the ski, one above and one below the wood core. This is the typical race ski construction and it is used for all of Völkl’s top Racetiger and Deacon models and it is optimized for hard and icy on-piste conditions.

TailoredCarbonTip

One of our latest technologies is Tailored Fibre Placement. In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, opening up completely new possibilities, for performance at the front of the ski, which has a decisive influence on the handling of the ski. The stiffness, torsion and thus the skiing characteristics can be specifically adjusted via the fiber thickness and millimeter-precise alignment. In this way, the fibers guide the dynamics to the areas of the ski where they are needed. The visibly integrated Tailored Carbon Tips are light, allow an agile shovel reaction with less effort and quickly build up energy. The Tailored Carbon Tips thus reach a new level of precision, direct tip response and active skiing pleasure.

FullAshWoodcore

FULL ASH WOODCORE

The high-quality core made of solid ash, which extends over the entire length of the ski, is a technical highlight that has great impact on the skiing characteristics. The particularly elastic hardwood has so far only been used in racing skis for World Cup athletes and acts as an energy accumulator: while the ski flexes when initiating the turn, the fibers stretch and absorb the tension energy. At the exit of the turn, this accumulated energy is released, giving the ski a lively feel. Due to the specific suppleness of ash wood, the ski also adapts optimally to the surface. This results in the greatest possible stability and reliability, which makes the ski particularly smooth.

To ensure that the individual ranking of the various construction concepts of the testers was unbiased and the top skiers could only concentrate on the performance of the respective model, all skis were covered with black foil during the test runs. Numerous aspects such as grip, dynamics, power transmission and stability in a wide variety of skiing styles were included in the evaluation of the master models. The result: four new high-performance Master models - tested and awarded by the Italian Völkl Masterclass.
