Virginie is Switzerland’s high-flyer on the Völkl Freeski Team.

Virginie is Switzerland’s high-flyer on the Marker Volkl Freeski Team. The now 30-year-old can boast numerous titles to her name, including Halfpipe World Champion, Overall Halfpipe FIS World Cup winner, European Open champion in both halfpipe and slopestyle, and many many more. No wonder then that since 2011 she is hosting the world’s first ever girl-only freeski invitational, the world famous Nine Queens. Following the unwritten Swiss rule, Virginie had pretty early contact with winter sports. Her parents taught the little Virginie skiing in the vast area of the Portes Du Soleil ski resort when she was only two years old. They supported her ski racing ambitions for ten years and still kept supporting her, when Virginie started park, pipe and her favorite, backcountry skiing. The biggest influence on her riding, and on her whole character as well, is her father. When Virginie is without skis under her feet, the all-rounder is a keen downhill mountain biker.
